Welcome to Gladwyne Troop 181

Troop 181 has been active on the Main Line since 1921.  In addition to teaching Scout skills, our monthly campouts might include backpacking, biking, canoeing, rock climbing or whitewater rafting, in addition to Council events.  We also have a week-long summer camp at Resica Falls or another local Scout facility.

To join our troop, you must be:

 at least 10 years old, currently in the fifth grade, and register on or after March 1


at least 10 years old and have earned the Arrow of Light Award


at least 11 years old (but not yet 18)

08/29/22 - Welcome Back BBQ and Court of Honor

Join us as we begin the new Scouting year with a small cookout for our Scouts, followed by a Court of Honor to recognize achievements earned during the last couple months.  The cookout is for the Scouts, but everyone is welcome and encouraged to join us as we present awards for recent achievements and share our summer camp experiences.  We will also discuss the activities we have planned for the next few months.  Welcome Back!!!

09/16/22 - Camping (Cape Henlopen State Park)

Our first camping trip of the new Scouting year is September 16-18 at Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes, DE.  We hope to tour Fort Miles Museum, part of the coastal defense during World War II, and explore the beaches of the Delaware Bay.  We hope you can join us for this great start to our adventurous year of outdoor activities full of safe fun!

Use Calendar Sync Function to Stay Connected!

Easily stay connected to the Troop 181 website calendar and get automatic updates. Simply log into the Troop 181 website. On the left hand side  "User" menu click "Calendar Sync". Next - under Calendar Type choose your particular calendar application from the drop down and then click "Create Calendar Feed" at the bottom of the page. Final step - click the iCalendar Feed link and you're done! Simple and easy to do. You're now synced!  

Citizenship in Society Merit Badge

On November 1, 2021, BSA introduced the Citizenship in Society merit badge.  The new merit badge encourages Scouts to explore important topics around diversity, equity, inclusion and ethical leadership and learn why these qualities are important in society and in Scouting.  Beginning July 1, 2022, the Citizenship in Society merit badge will be required for any youth seeking to achieve the prestigious Eagle Scout rank.

Troop Reopening Plan - Fall 2020

St. Christopher's Episcopal Church has approved our Reopening Plan, allowing us to resume in-person meetings and activities.  The Plan details protocols to be followed by all participants in an effort to ensure the safety of our members and their families.  We request that parents review the Plan with their Scout(s) to ensure that everyone understands the procedures.
