John "Eagle" Burch Award Winner is Mikey Kotler!

Posted on Jun 11 2017 - 7:51pm

Each year, the troop presents an award to a younger/newer Scout for “Troop Loyalty.” The recipient is chosen by our older Scouts in recognition of hard work, enthusiasm for Scouting, and outstanding participation in the troop’s activities. The award is named for John W. “Eagle” Burch,  an outstanding high school and college athlete, US Navy veteran of both World War II and the Korean War. He is in the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame, and “Eagle Field” at the Haverford School is named in his honor.  His family donated the Eagle statue you can see at the Scout House in his memory.  This year, the John W. “Eagle” Burch Award for Troop Loyalty is presented to: Mikey Kotler. Congratulations, Mikey!!
