Welcome to Gladwyne Troop 181!

Gladwyne Troop 181 has been an important presence on the Main Line since 1921. We are dedicated to the Aims of Scouting: Character, Citizenship, Personal Fitness, and Leadership. Our program includes lots of outdoor activities, community service projects and leadership opportunities.  Our monthly weekend campouts include a range of backpacking, whitewater rafting, orienteering and climbing adventures.  The Troop also sponsors fun weeklong summer camps. We meet Sunday evenings from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM at the Gladwyne Scout House located at the corner of Youngsford Rd and Conshohocken State Rd. in Gladwyne, PA.

Joining Troop 181

Any boy interested is welcome to join the Troop.

To become a Boy Scout

• You must have completed the 5th grade and be at least 10 years old; or, 11 years old; or, have earned the Arrow of Light Award.

• You must be under 18 years of age.

Summer Camp - August 8-13

We have registered for summer camp at Resica Falls Scout Reservation.  Scouts can complete lots of rank requirements and earn some merit badges while spending an exciting week outdoors learning and practicing Scout skills.  Details will follow as we learn from Council, but we are excited to offer this opportunity for our Scouts this summer.  Click here to view the camp website for more information.  As a reminder, in addition to the COVID screening sheet, the Annual Medical and Health Record (AHMR) Parts A, B1, B2, and C are required of all campers.  Note that this includes a copy of the front and back of your insurance card, and Part C is a physical examination including a physician's signature.

2021 Merit Badge College

Merit Badge College will be virtual this year, on March 27 and April 24.  Choose from 35+ merit badges, including at least seven Eagle-required badges.  Registration opens February 25 at 10:00 and the 500 available spots are expected to go quickly, so be sure to plan ahead.  Cost is $20 per Scout.  Click here for a list of badges offered, the current schedule, pre-requisites that must be completed before the first session, and more.

COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire

Our local council requires a COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire to be completed for each participant (Scout or Adult) to enter any Scouting activity.  It must be completed by an Adult participant or by parent/legal guardian of youth under age 18 and includes a temperature check upon arrival.  It is frequently updated, so please click here to access the current form, which was updated 11/18/20Note that Q1 and Q4 have been modified, and the link to the PA Department of Health has been replaced with a statement regarding any travel outside of Pennsylvania in the last 14 days.

Troop Reopening Plan - Fall 2020

St. Christopher's Episcopal Church has approved our Reopening Plan, allowing us to resume in-person meetings and activities.  The Plan details protocols to be followed by all participants in an effort to ensure the safety of our members and their families.  We request that parents review the Plan with their Scout(s) to ensure that everyone understands the procedures.

Use Calendar Sync Function to Stay Connected!

Easily stay connected to the Troop 181 website calendar and get automatic updates. Simply log into the Troop 181 website. On the left hand side  "User" menu click "Calendar Sync". Next - under Calendar Type choose your particular calendar application from the drop down and then click "Create Calendar Feed" at the bottom of the page. Final step - click the iCalendar Feed link and you're done! Simple and easy to do. You're now synced!
