Eagle Project - May 23 at Saunders Woods

Posted on May 8 2021 - 8:00pm

Come out and help Miles with his Eagle project on May 23 at Saunders Woods beginning at 9AM.  The work includes raising owl boxes and creating a clearing, possibly to be used in the future for camping!  Bring your work gloves and wear long pants to protect against poison ivy and ticks.  Some tools will be available, but additional rakes, loppers, and shears are welcome if you have them.  Don't forget your mask, hand sanitizer, and water.  We have a sign-up to help Miles with planning.  If you are coming a little later, please include that in the Notes.

May 14-16 Backpacking at Resica Falls

Posted on May 8 2021 - 8:00pm

In May we are going to Resica Falls (East Stroudsburg PA) for another great backpacking trip.  This one will be authentic backpacking; no cars nearby because of weather.  We will gather Friday evening in Gladwyne to grab the gear we need and then meet at the white house just inside the Resica Falls entrance.  We will backpack to a site and set up camp.  On Saturday we will backpack to a site on the Bushkill Creek.  After breaking camp Sunday morning we will backpack to the white house and our vehicles, review the weekend, and start preparing for our rock climbing trip in June.

June 4-6 Camping and Rock Climbing

Posted on May 8 2021 - 8:00pm

Come out and experience real rock climbing in the great outdoors, on a hundred-foot cliff of red Brunswick shale!  We've got a great group site in Tohickon Valley Park and we'll be climbing and rappelling at High Rocks in Ralph Stover State Park, Bucks County.  Staff from Doylestown Rock Gym will set up top ropes and provide helmets and gear, instruct in safety, and supervise the climbing and rappelling.  Note the special registration instructions for this trip.

Summer Camp - August 8-13

Posted on May 8 2021 - 7:59pm

We have registered for summer camp at Resica Falls Scout Reservation.  Scouts can complete lots of rank requirements and earn some merit badges while spending an exciting week outdoors learning and practicing Scout skills.  Click here to view the Program Guide.  As a reminder, in addition to the COVID screening sheet, the Annual Medical and Health Record (AHMR) Parts A, B1, B2, and C are required of all campers.  Note that this includes a copy of the front and back of your insurance card, and Part C is a physical examination including a physician's signature.
